A Magic Week in the Marlborough Sounds - Anniversary Week, January 2002.
Ten of us hired a 63 ft motor launch for a week
for an extended cruise in the Marlborough Sounds. The boat has 8 double
cabins, a large lo
unge and above that a large sun/observation deck. We had
exclusive use of the vessel for the week and in perfect weather, we walked,
fished, dredged for scallops, swam, viewed the magnificent and varied scenery,
made a number of visits to shore to see areas of interest incl a bird sanctuary
and some interesting and different farm businesses. We viewed mussel and
salmon farms incl harvesters, lazed in the sun, ate and drank (probably too much
at times!), had great and varied meals, played cards, read, and much more.
The boat had a crew of 3 (the owners and a cook) who supplied everything incl
the meals. The Cruise Company we used have their own web site at
www.affinitycruises.co.nz.
